Overview
The Launching Conference of the EU's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) in Estonia, organized by Archimedes Foundation and Estonian Ministry of Education and Research, took place on March 28th, 2007, in Tartu Estonia. The conference was a major event in Estonia and brought together almost 250 participants.
It provided an insight into the new programme and opportunities for networking, initiation of new projects and a dialogue with policy makers and key figures in the region.
The event took place in Tartu, the second biggest city of Estonia, rich in academic and historical traditions.

The EU’s Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development is designed to promote the competitiveness of industry and improve the quality of life in Europe through funding collaborative research projects that forge links between countries, and between industry and academia.
We thank all the participants, speakers and organizers for the success of this event. We hope that the conference was both enjoyable and professionally stimulating.
