This leading two day event brings together representatives from across the world’s multidisciplinary UCG community to discuss key science, technology, policy and commercial issues facing the development of the UCG industry. This is the official conference of the UCG industry, and the only one organised by the Underground Coal Gasification Partnership (the industry representative body for the global UCG community).
85% of the world’s coal is unmineable; as a result many countries are turning to UCG to fully exploit previously unrecoverable resources in an economical, efficient and safe way.
UCG- the in-situ conversion of coal deposits - turns this resource into syngas, producing power, liquid fuel, hydrocarbon feedstock, chemicals and other high value products. It also promises to be one of the most efficient solutions for capturing carbon long-term.
Currently a number of projects are underway which will endorse the true commercial viability of UCG, and with many more planned there is no shortage in global interest, activity or advancement.
During the two days you will hear from some of the foremost practitioners of this technology from around the world in a comprehensive programme that aims to inform and enlighten all to the opportunity and potential of UCG technology.
